In the centre of Stresa, the modern Hotel La Palma is set in flower filled gardens on the shore of Lake Maggiore, enjoying views of the Borromean islands. The air conditioned guestrooms have a classic style d�cor with plush carpets and richly patterned soft furnishings in deep red and bold ochre shades. All rooms open out onto terraces, the superior rooms with views over the lake and islands. All are equipped with satellite television, minibars and safes. The private bathrooms have jetted tubs, hairdryers and telephones.
Located right on the lake, the outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by a paved terrace where guests can soak up the Italian sunshine while taking in views across the water to the Borromean islands. Workouts are accompanied by island views from the gym on the sixth floor, where there is also a sauna, jetted tub and sun terrace. Heavy drapes, crisp white table linen and classic furniture create a refined atmosphere in the restaurant, which serves traditional Italian fare alongside international dishes and overlooks the hotel garden, while red velvet sofas, plush carpets and soft up lighting set the tone in the air conditioned lounge bar. The front desk is open round the clock and on site parking is free. Stresa is about 50 kilometres from central Milan and direct trains run to the city from the town's station, which is just 300 metres from the hotel. Boats run to the lovely Borromean islands, approximately three kilometres away and the house, zoo and impressive botanical gardens at Villa Pallavicino are just one kilometre from the hotel. The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa, which is 45 kilometres and about a 45 minute journey from Stresa. A shuttle bus service runs between the airport and Stresa.
