Formerly a 19th century manor house, the Hotel Albergo Terminus is situated 200 metres from the station in Como's quaint town centre, in a position overlooking Lake Como. The hotel's 40 air conditioned guestrooms are characterised by Liberty style decor, with floral fabrics made from Como Lake silk, patterned wallpaper and antique style furnishings. All offer satellite television with pay movies, minibars, Internet connections, direct dial phones, safes, and bathrooms with designer toiletries and hairdryers.
Guests can work out in the hotel's fitness area or simply relax in the sauna. The Bar Delle Terme is an intimate and traditional Italian restaurant decorated in rich green and red with plush brocades. Guests can also eat on the terrace, which is surrounded by jasmine and oleander bushes and has lake views, or take advantage of room service. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can assist guests and arrange airport transport, and the concierge can provide currency exchange and help book tours or tickets. Taxis are available from outside the airport and a trip to the hotel costs about 100 EUR. Travellers can also catch a bus direct from the airport, and the trip generally takes about an hour. By train, take the Malpensa Express from the airport to Saronno station and change for Como at Lago FNM station.
Driving directions: From the airport take motorway A9 for about 15 kilometres and the Como Laghi for another 15 kilometres. Take the first exit, for Como South. Follow directions to Como centre; the hotel is situated on the main square, beside the lake.
